Traditional Hawaiian Niihau style Kahelelani Shell Lei. This is a four strand, four color, 35 total inch Lei. This is the traditional style of special Lei made on the forbidden island of Niihau, Hawaii, and is customarily worn for special events, weddings or other important ceremonies. The Lei can be worn twisted or untwisted for a different effect and the Kahelelani shell colors are light pink, bright pink, tan and maroon. The Lei is finished with the customary Granulated Bumpy White Cowrie Shell. These shell Leis are very precious as these shells are extremely rare, considered gems and can actually be insured.
